Online shop closed over Christmas/ New Year break

The bell.n.whistle online shop will be closed from Thursday the 23rd of December until the 8th of January 2011. You can still browse and purchase designs from the gorgeous selection, but they will not be shipped until the 8th of January.

If you wish to buy and have items posted before I head away all items must be purchased and payed for before 10pm on Wednesday 23rd of December.

leather and lace

experimenting with materials for my bow hairclips has resulted in these gorgeous new designs made from an old leather jacket and some beautiful pieces of lace

i'd like to experiment with doilies too when i get a chance :)

felt shop restocked

I spent all yesterday virtually restocking the shelves of my online shop.

There are bows and badges galore- lots of cute picture book illustrations like the ones above.

bell.n.whistle designs are now stocked in Christchurch store Follow The White Rabbit, which re-opened on Sat at new premises- Lichfield lane, The Poplar lanes, off 170 High St.

Unique bow clips and button badges -both screenprinted on upcycled papers and from illustrated vintage picture books- are available for those looking for the perfect stocking filler, secret santa, or wee gift for themselves :)

These are a few of my favourite designs from the collection of badges and bows I've been busy making for Moxie Market this Friday

I'm loving the candy colours of the bows, made from all sorts of fabrics I've collected (lots of florals!) and I plan to make some more this weekend to list on felt- these and the button badges make great wee xmas gifts for friends, stocking fillers or even secret santas.

Fabric Badges

It's been a busy week, but i've finally got my screens ready with all the imagery and have been screenprinting some new badges, including these ones from upcycled fabrics!

I also found a gorgeous fabric while op shopping today (shown as the background ) which will make for some very cute badges and bows. I think i'll get making more bows tonight...

bows, bows and more bows!

I have been working on a range of new hairclips from upcycled fabrics. The packaging design still needs to be set in my screen so  I can print it ,but photoshop has allowed me to create a wee preview of what they will look like when finished :)

I have also come up with a new design for some screen printed badges that I think will look very cute over map or playing card- hopfully I can get these in my screen tomorrow and get printing!

O pop shop re-stocked

I frantically screen printed 22 new badge designs last night to fill the shelves of the Opop shop, as the dozen I had provided all sold on the opening night!

Online Shop- up and running

I finally have a listing on my online shop! It's taken me all day to sort the photos and descriptions etc, but now that I know how to do it the rest should be a lot quicker.

I still have all these new badges shown below to list, including the ones made from gorgeous vintage book illustrations. Better get onto it...

Extra Curricular issue 4

My favourite craft magazine Extra Curricular is about to release the 4th issue, so i've got my pre order sorted on felt- il be watching the letterbox for it in a couple of weeks time!

This magazine is a great source of inspiration for me, filled with work by so many amazing creative people

op shop finds

I went op shopping in the weekend searching for new badge materials and am secretly pleased with what I found:  vintage picture books with gorgeous two colour illustrations, an assortment of old maps, and some old maid playing cards with a beautiful turquoise pattern on the back- all in all a successful outing.

I will be transforming these into badges in the next few days and hope to be listing them on my felt shop this weekend

Opop store!

I have finally found the time to make some more badges, printing and assembling a dozen sets in a range of colours and designs (note the new bubble and wand design, as well as tea cups and spoons!)  for the Opop store at the upcoming Polytech Design Exhibition, held in the ex Wickliffe Press Building on Albany St from the 17th to the 21st of November.

I have also taken the time to print business cards, as individualised as the badges themselves.

There are some more badges currently in the works that will be listed on the felt website soon so keep an eye out.
